Rosalia Vila Tobella[2] (born 25 September 1992),[3] known mononymously as Rosalia (Spanish: [rosa'li.a], Catalan: [ruz@'li.@]),[4][5][6] is a Spanish singer. [7][8] Born and raised on the suburbs of Barcelona She was described as an "atypical pop artist" due to her diverse music styles. In the age of thirteen, she fell in fascination with Spanish folk music, and she studied musicology at the Catalonia College of Music. She was also a guest at weddings and music bars. Reimagining flamenco in a new way by mixing it with hip hop and pop music, the album produced the singles "Malamente" as well as "Pienso en your Mira" that caught the interest of the Spanish general public and were released to universal critical acclaim. Billboard presented her with the Rising Star Award in 2019 for "changing today's mainstream music sound with her flamenco-inspired pop"[18[18]. Rosalia was born on 25 September 1992 in Sant Cugat del Valles and raised in Sant Esteve Sesrovires,[20][21][22] Baix Llobregat, Catalonia. She is the youngest of four children to Pilar Tobella, an entrepreneur who owns a tiny metalworking business. Jose Manuel Vila, her father, was born in Cudillero. They parted in 2019. The actress has an older sibling, Pilar "Pili" Vila (born 1989) and works alongside Rosalia as her stylist and creative director. Rosalia was interested in performing arts from the age of five. She was able to discover the discography of Camaron De la Isla. At the Taller de Musics, she started her musical training. She completed a 6-year program at the academy. She began at the Raval school, but later moved to the Superior School of Music of Catalonia. In addition, she was a solo singer, singing at weddings and bars that were musical.
